The European Chamber very much welcomes the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR)'s decision to collect opinions on the "Notice of Opinions on the 2020 Food Safety Supervision Random Sampling Plan". Upon careful study of this notice, the European Chamber Agriculture, Food and Beverage Working Group, Paediatric Nutrition Working Group, Food for Special Medical Purposes Working Group, and Cheese Working Group have collated all member inputs and submitted them to the SAMR for their consideration.

Upon careful study of the draft, the European Chamber Agriculture, Food and Beverage Working Group, Paediatric Nutrition Working Group, Food for Special Medical Purposes Working Group, and Cheese Working Group have collated all member inputs and submitted them to the GACC for their consideration. The European Union Delegation has also shown their concerns on this Draft, and adopted Chamber's comments in many ways.

European Chamber paid met with Damien Plan, the Agriculture Counsellor of European Union Delegation to China, to exchange ideas on agricultural product and food related issues. Concerns were raised regarding the overall regulatory environment in this sector, especially in infant formula, dairy products and agricultural products export to China. Both sides agreed to continue cooperation on policy shaping and potential cooperation on the EU food quality promotion campaign was also considered.

European Chamber Presents on Agricultural Risks in the European Union and Risk Management in the Common Agricultural Policy at the Ninth International Agricultural Insurance Forum
On 23rd October 2019, Ms. Alexandra-Andreea Pop, Coordinator of the European Chamber Agriculture, Food and Beverage Working Group, has participated in the Ninth International Agricultural Insurance Forum, held in Yangling, Xi'an, where she gave a presentation on "Agricultural Risks in the European Union and Risk Management in the Common Agricultural Policy".
