European Chamber Vice President Massimo Bagnasco Speaks at the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade(CCPIT) 'Chongqing Tour' for Foreign Enterprise Closed-door Meeting with Main Leaders of Chongqing Municipal Party Committee

On 23rd October, European Chamber Vice President Massimo Bagnasco spoke at the exclusive group leadership meeting in the framework of the "Chongqing Tour" for Foreign Enterprises organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government. Secretary of the Chongqing Municipal Party Committee Yuan Jiajun, Deputy Secretary of the Chongqing Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Chongqing Hu Henghua, CCPIT Chairman Ren Hongbin, along with other distinguished guests of the Chongqing Tour for Foreign Enterprises, attended the meeting.

Massimo Bagnasco's speech highlights Chongqing's significant market potential in attracting foreign investment and developing high-tech sectors, with more and more European companies choosing to establish centers in the city. Although businesses in Southwest China have performed well, they face challenges such as difficulties in recruiting foreign senior talent and issues with air quality, making operations more difficult. In response, Bagnasco suggests strengthening talent attraction policies, offering tax incentives, improving English information services, promoting green development, enhancing building energy efficiency, and providing more information on business opportunities in the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, particularly in English.

Additionally, there is a call for better policy communication and implementation to ensure effective execution of measures and boost business confidence. Bagnasco concludes by expressing hopes for deeper cooperation with Chongqing to unlock the region's full potential.
