On the afternoon of October 21st, 2024, Mr. Erich Kaiserseder, Chair of the European Chamber Shenyang Chapter, along with Board Member Mr. Stephane Gonnetand and Office Manager Ms. Leo Liu, visited the Dalian Branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT). The European Chamber delegation met with Vice President Yu Hongbo, and the Director of the Information and Consulting Department, Yuan Yu, among other leaders and colleagues.
Kaiserseder expressed appreciation for the ongoing assistance and support the Dalian CCPIT has provided to foreign-invested enterprises, highlighting Dalian's unique geographical advantages and its important role in China-Europe trade.
The two sides then exchanged views on issues related to international trade performance bonds. Gonnetand pointed out that performance bonds play a significant role in the trade practices of European countries, especially in supporting small and medium-sized enterprises with order fulfillment, ensuring flexible cash flow, and ultimately facilitating contract execution. Implementing similar policies in Liaoning and Dalian would greatly benefit the development of both European and Chinese small and medium enterprises, stimulate job creation, and promote regional economic growth.
Yu expressed his gratitude to the European Chamber for its significant contributions to facilitating communication between government and enterprises, thereby enhancing mutual understanding. Regarding the performance bond guarantees for international trade, he stated that the Dalian branch will coordinate face-to-face discussions among various stakeholders, drawing on European experiences to actively conduct relevant research. He also expressed hopes for closer communication and collaboration with the European Chamber in more economic and trade areas, including promoting international exhibitions, to organize more practical and effective dialogue and exchange activities.
After the meeting, Kaiserseder presented Yu with the European Business in China Position Paper 2024/2025.
