Position paper Launch at 2014 Nanjing Government Dialogue

Leading foreign executives from industrial, trade and services companies met with Nanjing government officials to discuss business and trade opportunities.

A total of 160 participants took part in the event including European Chamber President Jörg Wuttke; board members of the Nanjing Chapter; 130 members representing 120 member companies; and Mr Zou Weike, Deputy Director of the Nanjing Investment Promotion Bureau.Also in attendance with officials from Jingling Customs, Nanjing Entry-Exit Inspection & Quarantine Bureau, Nanjing Municipal Human Resource and Social Security Bureau, Nanjing State Tax Bureau and Nanjing Arbitration Commission.

The attendance of President Wuttke attests to the importance that is attached to furthering dialogue with the Nanjing Government and developing economic and trade cooperation with an open, pragmatic and flexible attitude.

Following opening speeches the event proceeded with four discussion groups. These were led by the Nanjing Chapter Chair and Vice Chair, board members and European Chamber staff from the “Sourcing”, “Human Resources”, “Finance and Taxation” working groups and forums and the new Energy group. Each group discussed opportunities for enhancing business operations in Nanjing and nearby cities.
