EU-China Seminar on the Development of Environmental Goods and Services

2014-10-30 | Beijing

The roundtable was designed for Chinese officials and industry experts to get a better understanding of the impacts and consequences of further liberalising environmental goods and services. It was a follow-up activity from a successful activity on the liberalisation of the environmental services market and development policies held in Beijing for Ministry of Commerce officials in November 2012, which facilitated a productive dialogue between the Chinese delegates from several government agencies overseeing environmental services (MOFCOM and MEP) and their EU counterparts. This meeting presented a useful lobbying opportunity, under the environmental topic, as 40 participants from MOFCOM, Ministry of Environmental Protection, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and National Development and Reform Commission attended.

Representatives from EUCCC discussed some of their key concerns and recommendations from the 2014/2015 Position Paper.
