Policy Interpretation of the Regulation of Shanghai Municipality on the Protection of Consumer Rights and Interests given by Shanghai Municipal Administration for Market Regulation

For a better understanding of the Regulation of Shanghai Municipality on the Protection of Consumer Rights and Interest, on 21st September, members of multiple working groups including the Fashion and Leather Desk, Cosmetics Working Group and Agriculture, Food and Beverage Working Group had a dedicated meeting with Shanghai Municipal Administration for Market Regulation. At the meeting, Director Xie from the Consumer Protection Department of Shanghai AMR gave a three-hour-long presentation of the newly revised regulation and answered the questions raised by attendees. The Regulation embraces many new requirements for businesses to protect consumer interests amid various emerging consumption models, which has been put into effect very shortly after its promulgation in late July.
