Roundtable with Zong Ming, Vice Mayor of Shanghai

On 6th June , European Chamber Vice President (VP) and Shanghai Chapter Chair Bettina Schoen, and Shanghai Chapter General Manager Dr Ioana Kraft, together with 7 member company representatives, had a virtual roundtable meeting with Zong Ming, Vice Mayor of Shanghai to resolve issues and challenges during the work resumption and boost the confidence of European enterprises. Wen Daxiang, Deputy Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission, introduced the recent epidemic prevention work in Shanghai and provided some guidance to enterprises for business resumption. Gu Jun, Chairman of the Municipal Commission of Commerce, introduced the relevant policies of the city to accelerate economic recovery and revitalization.
Vice Mayor Zong Ming highlighted the significance of the economic and trade relations between the city and Europe, as well as thanked the support from European Chamber and companies , expecting our members to be more actively involved in Shanghai’s economic recovery and revitalization. The European Chamber was informed during the meeting that Shanghai will no longer require PU letter for foreigners returning for work and their dependents, an initiative from central government to encourage work and production resumption in Shanghai. VP Schoen appreciated the support from the city government to European companies and hoped to continue the close collaboration and communication between Shanghai government and our member companies.
