ECHI attended the Gas-Fired Heating and Hot Water Combi-Boilers G20 Seminar

On 28th April, representatives from the Europe China Heating Initiative(ECHI) participated in the Gas-Fired Heating and Hot Water Combi-Boilers G20 Seminar organised by the China Gas Heating Specialty Committee (CGHC) of the Gas Department of China Civil Engineering Society. Mr Wang Qi, Director of the CGHC and Ms Tang Rong, Secretary-General of the CGHC, hosted discussions covering the challenges and problems of the gas heating and water heater industry under the circumstances of ‘double war’ - China’s COVID-19 containment measures and the war in Ukraine. 

Participants from ECHI exchanged with other participants on three topics:

· The problems and solutions of the supply chain.

· The impacts on the production and operation of enterprises and measures to overcome these difficulties.

· The ‘double war’ impact on the ‘dual carbon goals’. 

At the end of the seminar, Mr Wang Qi concluded the current challenges and future development of the gas heating and water heater industry. The ‘double war’ harmed various industries and enterprises in the gas heating and water heater industry. Enterprises are encouraged to use the development potential in the retail market brought by the ‘coal-to-gas’ (CTG) transition program and to utilise the online platform to increase promotion and demand acceptance of condensing application gas heating and water heater. And most importantly, get connected with the G20 platform, where mainstream enterprises play a positive role.
