Green Transition in Industry and Transport: Sharing Swedish Experiences

The meeting was organised with the intention to share Swedish expertise in green transition and discuss the opportunities and challenges posed by the green transition. Two European Chamber Energy Working Group vice chairs participated as moderator and panellist respectively, providing European business perspectives on  decarbonising the industrial sector and securing fossil free transport.

 Following the opening remarks by Marie-Claire Swärd Capra, Consul-General of Sweden in Shanghai, industry experts representing both Swedish government organisations as well as Swedish and international companies presented their Keynote speeches.

Keynote speakers included

- Mattias Frumerie:Swedish Environment Minister and representative at COP26

- Gökçe Mete: Head of Secretariat Leadership Group for Industry Transition (LeadIT)

- Jesper Wigardt:Vice President of Communications and Public Affairs at Northvolt

- David Sweet, Vice president of APAC strategy and Business Owners (Volvo)

- Mickael Naouri, Vice Chair of European Chamber Energy Working Group (Air Liquide)

- Zipei Xu, Project Manager at PowerCell

- Johnathan Zhang, Global Account Manager at Scania

The speakers presented relevant achievements of the entities they represented, and discussed a number of issues regarding green transition in China, including the importance of shared roadmaps to create shared standards for green transitions, sustainability investments for increased competitiveness and as drivers of growth, as well as the pros and cons of hydrogen as opposed to electricity
