Meeting with Shenzhen Vice Mayor Ai Xuefeng

On Nov 25th, European Chamber President Joerg Wuttke and a delegation of South China Board members and Shenzhen member representatives met with Shenzhen Vice Mayor Ai Xuefeng.

President Wuttke introduced the European Chamber Position Paper 2020/2021, and congratulated Shenzhen's remarkable achievements while it celebrates the 40th anniversary as China's Special Economic Zone. Vice President and South China Board Chair George Lau stated the European Chamber local members are eager to further cooperate with Shenzhen in areas including digital technology, new energy, smart city, and new infrastructure.

Vice Mayor Ai Xuefeng summarized Shenzhen's overall economic recovery after COVID-19, and introduced the new reform measures that will take place after President Xi's Shenzhen visit. Mayor Ai expressed Shenzhen municipal's interest in further discussing with European Chamber members while drafting Shenzhen's local legislations, which is an unique right given to Shenzhen as the Socialist Demonstration Area by the central government.
