Government Policies that Support Business Operations during the COVID-19: A Discussion with the Shanghai Local Authorities

On 17th March, the European Chamber hosted a webinar with officials from various government departments in Shanghai to discuss the implementation of the policies related to work resumption amid the COVID-19 outbreak. During the discussion, officials of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, Shanghai Municipal Development and Reform Commission, Shanghai Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, Shanghai Customs, and Shanghai Municipal Center for Disease Control shared the latest policies that support business resumption. The policy introduction was followed by a 1-hour Q&A session. 110 members joined the online discussion around topics such as quarantine measures, school opening timeline, social insurance payment, customs clearance for hazardous chemicals, rental deduction and exemption.
