Deputy Director General Xu Jilin from NEA Attends Working Group Meeting on Green Hydrogen and Its Applications in Automotives

On 13th December 2019, the European Chamber invited Xu Jilin, deputy director general (DDG), the National Energy Administration (NEA); Octavian Stamate, counsellor, Energy and Climate Action, the European Union Delegation to China; industry experts; and representatives from Chamber member companies to discuss and exchange views on the status quo, barriers and outlook for hydrogen and hydrogen vehicles’ development in China.

DDG Xu provided updates on hydrogen policy and legislation in China, and answered questions raised by attendees on areas including political incentives, infrastructure construction, storage, transportation, and power consumption pricing for electrolysis, among others. Counsellor Stamate discussed green hydrogen development in the EU. Other speakers presented on topics such as the development of and prospects for fuel cell energy vehicles, the development status and future trends of global hydrogen production and storage technologies, and fuel cell solutions in new energy vehicle affiliations.
