Exclusive Dinner with Commissioner-designate for Trade Phil Hogan

On 7th November, a European Chamber delegation led by Vice President Charlotte Roule hosted a dinner with Commissioner-designate for Trade Phil Hogan and Director-General for Trade Sabine Weyand, who were heading a visiting European delegation. Participants on the Chamber side included representatives from a variety of industry and sectors, including energy, automotive, manufacturing, financial services, aviation, and certification services, among others.

The two sides discussed a number of topics concerning the European Union and China’s trade relationship that are of key interest to European businesses. These included, among others, SOE reform, subsidies, procurement and connectivity, as well as industry-specific issues. At the end of the meeting, both sides renewed their commitment to continue regular exchanges between the European Chamber and the new Commission, both at working-level and high-level.
