“Facilitate Sino-European Practical Cooperation to a New Level”: Vice President Charlotte Roule Met with Vice Administrator Li Fanrong, National Energy Administration

On 31st October, European Chamber Vice President Charlotte Roule led a delegation of Chamber representatives to meet with the National Energy Administration (NEA). The Chamber delegation was received by NEA Vice Administrator Li Fanrong and representatives from the departments of Legislative Affairs and Energy Sector Reconstructing, Planning, Technology, Renewable Energy, and International Affairs. The Chamber delegation included Guido Giacconi, national chair of the Energy Working Group, and several senior representatives from the Energy Working Group.

Topics covered during the meeting included energy transformation from coal to gas, energy efficiency, hydrogen development, renewables, and green energy procurement. The two sides also discussed international cooperation – for example, how to involve foreign-invested enterprises more in Belt and Road Initiative projects. Vice Administrator Li expressed his belief that now was a good time to facilitate Sino-European practical cooperation to a new level, and that the platform of EU-China Energy Dialogue should be fully utilised.
