Meeting with the Governor of Shandong Mr GONG Zheng

On 20th June, Massimo Bagnasco, Vice President of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, met with the Governor of Shandong, Mr GONG Zheng (龚正) during the opening ceremony of the International Horticulture Exhibition, Shandong Day. During the meeting, Bagnasco presented the European Business in China Position Paper 2018/2019 and Business Confidence Survey 2019 to the Governor and briefly introduced the two European Chamber’s publications to the Governor.
VP Bagnasco later delivered a speech during the ceremony, calling for more environmental protection and offering advices on future development. In his speech, VP Bagnasco commended the advantages of Shandong and some of its achievement in agriculture. He stated further investment of European companies in Shandong is possible if a level playing field and the right conditions are provided. Also, VP Bagnasco believed that more cooperation between EU environment companies and Chinese ones are possible. Additionally, he said tourism is a sector underdeveloped in Shandong. After his speech, VP Bagnasco took several media questions regarding EU-China cultural exchange and further economic cooperation.
