Job description
We are seeking an analyst to work in our social policy portfolio starting from July 2020. This position is suited to candidates interested in gaining insight into the socio-cultural changes accompanying China’s economic transition and the development of social policy-making in the context of increasing focus on citizen well being.
Strong research skills, attention to detail and ability to draft in clear English are core requirements. Full-time analyst positions at China China Policy offer unparalleled experience for high achieving MA candidates aiming for PhD studies. In recent years over a dozen of our analysts have gained PhD places in top international universities.
The portfolio closely monitors and maps topics including, but are not limited to: education; public health and healthcare industry; social demography (birth and ageing); urbanisation and spatial planning; poverty alleviation; affordable housing and urban segregation; labour, workplace and employment; social security and welfare policy.

Skills & experience
﹘ native-level Chinese and professional standard English
﹘ knowledge of development economics, demography, sociology, public health, labour relations and other related areas; understanding of China’s social sectors and policy environment
﹘ previous work experience in above-mentioned sectors is prefered
﹘ outstanding academic achievement at Bachelors and/or Masters level
﹘ eye for detail and clear communicator;
﹘ curiosity-driven and eager to learn
﹘ ability to deliver work to tight deadlines; flexible and able to take initiative
