Job description
As Business Development & Membership Executive, CBBC China; you will be responsible for playing a key role in the delivery of value and impact for our membership in China. By working with all teams across the CBBC, you will be expected to support development and execution of a comprehensive membership programme, seeking opportunities within our programme to advance the interests of our members. You will also play a key role in how we communicate with our members - promoting our events and activities, reporting on impact, monitoring and evaluating member needs and supporting the positioning of CBBC within the UK China business community.

Key Responsibilities:
Membership Programme Delivery
· Support the Senior Director (Business Development) and wider China team to deliver the CBBC’s membership programme of events and initiatives in Beijing – ensuring strong impact, community engagement and value for money to our membership.
· Work closely with the other members of the business development, sector and public affairs teams in the UK and China to ensure consistent engagement of key stakeholders from our membership network.
· Work with Senior Directors and Sector Leads to identify targeted opportunities within the membership programme that will benefit member interests – e.g.: events, co-branded reports, joint programmes, webinars etc.)
· Develop and deliver CBBC member activities together with the Events team and ensure consistency joined up approach with our member event programmes in East, West & South China.
· Support the Trade Policy and IP team to ensure Beijing members are being engaged and involved in CBBC’s trade policy and market access work.
· Handle enquiries from members and potential members relating to membership matters in Beijing.
· Manage / monitor CBBC’s list of key contacts at member companies in Beijing ensuring that Civi is updated
Business Development
· Support teams with developing sponsorship and advertising opportunities for members which:
a) Add value to our member company objectives;
b) Support the commercial goals of the CBBC;
· This would entail both supporting with packaging our offer and managing implementation for sponsors of CBBC’s major events in Beijing, advertising on the website, focus magazine and digital channels.
· Support CBBC’s Launchpad Director with handling new enquiries.
Marketing & Communications
· Work closely with CBBC’s marketing and communications team to deliver a proactive integration of our membership programme to our stakeholder communications strategy.
· Ensure that our membership programme activities are promoted and impact is communicated effectively across our channels (newsletter, FOCUS magazine and CBBC owned social media).
· Coordinating information collection from our members for CBBC’s newsletters, FOCUS magazine and other marketing channels.
Job Requirements
Our ideal candidate will be energetic, highly motivated, IT literate, an excellent organiser and communicator, an active listener and a team player with a proven ability to work independently.
Specific requirements for the role are as follows:
· Business development and sales experience is desirable.
· Membership organisation experience is desirable
· Strong communication and relationship building skills.
· Willingness to face clients and answer their enquiries
· Self-motivated with a proactive attitude towards problem-solving and responding positively to change
· Ability to think laterally and see the bigger picture from membership activities
· Good command of both written and spoken English – Chinese language skills desirable
· A fundamental understanding of marketing and communications
· Ability to analyse data and identify and manage risks
· Excellent IT skills – competency in office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
· At least 1-3 years’ working experience in an international environment
· Bachelor’s degree or above
