Job description
The European Chamber is an advocacy organization and as part of the work of the Chamber offers a variety of events to members and the general public. The Marketing and Communications Coordinator in South China Chapter is a comprehensive role and will be responsible for the Events planning and organising, Media relations and development of Chamber branding, office management and accounting, etc.
*This position is located in Shenzhen, occasionally in other cities of Guangdong.
Marketing
· Develop and implement consistent marketing strategy plan
. Promote the chamber activities/events by designing flyers, developing relationship with marketing channels.
· Edit and send the e-newsletter (South China Focus)
. Collaborate with membership colleagues to make sure the EuroBiz magazine sending and articles contributions.
Media Relations
· Maintain the media database and prepare the monthly media report
. Actively develop new channels for media cooperation and maintain the contacts with local media thanks to the events invitations and Press Release sending.
· Organise Press Conference in South China for publication launches
· Seek and increase the exposure of the European Chamber by developing media mentions.
· Supporting, developing, and formulating with the General Manager the Chapter communication strategy in alignment with the Chamber’s overall communication strategy
· In coordination with the Chapter’s Government Affairs team to identify the issues that we would like raise to the media.
· Serve as a contact for the Media Relations in South China
· Leading media press releases at local level
· Inform SC media database of any relevant news on EU-China Government Affairs Updates
· Send the latest updates (Publications/EU-China Government Affairs/ Background) to the spokespeople timely.
· Suggest to HO new communication channels for advocacy
Organise WG meetings, events (in coordination with HQ and other Chapters where relevant):
· Organize date, venue, agenda, documents, and invitation and participation lists
· Take meeting minutes and ensure smooth coordination with Chair, members, speakers and other invitees (i.e. government officials)
Update WG distribution lists, update Chairpersons and Vice-Chairpersons distribution lists and periodically revise potential member lists & pass all contacts to the membership department to add to the central database
· Seek new members for WG and the European Chamber, strictly monitoring the membership of the attendees to WG meetings
· Draft articles for EuroBiz and other media on topics related to WG in coordination with Marketing &Communications Department & indicate the needs of news/picture coverage of relevant WG activities and meetings
· Provide input to media relations when required
· Identify topics for events in coordination with Events manager
Skills & experience
• Organisational and presentation skills;
• Creative mind and outgoing character;
• Excellent written skills;
• A good team player;
• University degree;
• Fluency in both English and Chinese is required;
• A previous working experience is preferred, at events organising company, Chamber of Commerce or international organisation will be a plus;
• Knowledge and experience of international trade;
• Knowledge of the design software such us PS, AI, is preferred.
• Good command of the Microsoft Office, ZOOM, knowledge of basic IT skills is preferred.
