Guangzhou, December 9th, European Chamber delegation led by the Board Member Mr. Keqiang Nong met with the Deputy Director General of Guangdong Sub-Administration of China Customs, Mr. Mr. Zhao Min as well as several representatives from seven other departments.

Mr. Zhao gave a brief overview on the recent development and achievements of Guangdong Sub-Administration after the last meeting held between two parties in May 2009. Mr. Zhao pointed out that European Chamber is the good platform to encourage the member companies to communicate with the local customs promptly and to seek for advice on law and regulations in time.

Mr. Nong highlighted the increased importance of the closer cooperation between the European Chamber, PRD Chapter and Guangdong Customs in the future. The cooperation will create a better clearance and operation environment for enterprises. The development of the enterprises will make a great contribution to the society.

Member companies from Shenzhen and Guangzhou had the opportunity to discuss some customs related questions with Section Chiefs from Processing and Trade Supervision Department, Inspection Office, Business Department  and Deputy Directors from Research and General Offices.        
    
The occasion of the meeting was the handover of the European Business in China Position Paper 2010/2011 launched in September, earlier this year and was held in a completion of the nationwide row of meetings with Customs Administrations kicked in October with the meeting between the Logistics Working Group and the General Administration of Customs Vice Commissioner, Mr. Sun Yibiao in Beijing, followed by similar meetings between local PRD members and Shenzhen and Zhuhai Customs Districts Deputy Director Generals, Mr. Hu Nai Tao and Mr. Yan Wei Dong respectively.
