China re-emphasised the importance of cybersecurity with its March 2018 upgrade of the Central Leading Group for Cybersecurity and Informatisation to the Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission, also known as the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC). In view of the increasingly strengthened Chinese regulatory environment, the Cybersecurity Sub-working Group was established in February 2016 under the European Chamber’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Working Group. The Cybersecurity Sub-working Group focusses on cybersecurity legislation, standardisation and enforcement that impact multiple industries.
