What could it mean to your business?

The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China and Swiss Chinese Chamber of Commerce Beijing are delighted to invite you to an afternoon seminar on China's derivatives market on 15th June at Kempinski Hotel.

China's derivatives market is poised for progress under the prudent eye of regulators who are encouraging its development for risk-hedging. Their support was recently demonstrated by improvement to the documentation framework for OTC derivatives, through the publication of a new master agreement by the Chinese National Association of Financial Market Institutional Investors (NAFMII), a self-regulatory organisation mandated by the People's Bank of China. It is believed that this is in anticipation of further regulatory changes which will facilitate the development of China's financial markets.

This seminar will focus on the significance of the new NAFMII master agreement and the potential use that Chinese or China based corporates and banks will now be able to make of it. This will include not only onshore derivatives transactions, but also cross-border transactions, provided that a few changes are made to align the new master agreement to international standards and address certain specific issues, including those relating to witholding taxes.

The presentation will also cover Interest Rate and USD/CNY hedging strategy, and will introduce some popular financial products available in the Chinese market.
