The European Chamber of Commerce is proud to invite Alexandra Harney, author of 'The China Price' to talk to EUCCC members on the future of the Chinese Manufacturing market.

At a time when the global economy faces its greatest crisis since the Great Depression, Alexandra Harney's acclaimed book The China Price (Penguin Press, 2008) takes us behind the scenes inside the world's most powerful manufacturing sector. Today, China's export factories, once the envy of the rest of the world, are in crisis. A collapse in orders and limited bank loans are forcing tens of thousands of factories out of business, leaving tens of millions of people out of work.

What will China's manufacturing sector look like in two, five or 10 years? How will workers cope? What should foreign companies be doing to survive these turbulent times? Mapping out the trends she expects to shape China's manufacturing sector, Ms Harney will answer these questions and more.
