Giorgio Magistrelli to Bid Farewell to the European Chamber

The Executive Committee of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China and the Secretary General Giorgio Magistrelli have amicably agreed not to extend his mandate.

Subsequently the Executive Committee relieved Mr Magistrelli from his daily duties as Secretary General with immediate effect. The board already started a search for his successor.

The Executive Committee would like to thank Mr Magistrelli for his great contribution to strengthen the European Chamber since August 2004.

During his leadership the European Chamber experienced strong development, expanding from two to seven offices and growing from 450 to more than 1100 members. Giorgio Magistrelli managed this growth with an increase in employees from 13 to 50.

Mr. Magistrelli’s energy and passion, together with his advocacy, communication skills and strong professionalism have been the keys of the success of the Chamber.

Mr. Magistrelli developed and reinforced contacts at all levels with relevant stakeholders, among them the European Commission, Chinese Government Authorities, the media, NGOs, bilateral European Chambers and Chinese Chamber of Commerce.

Giorgio Magistrelli has also developed a strong cooperation with European Embassies and other diplomatic representations.

The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China is proud to have been managed by Mr. Magistrelli from 2004 to 2006 and the Executive Committee wishes him all the very best for his future career.
