Dear Members and Working group Members,
The European Chamber in Nanjing is pleased to invite you to the Finance and Taxation (F&T) Seminar and Working Group (WG) meeting on Wednesday, 23rd April 2014, 14.30-17.00, at Intercontinental Hotel, 7th Floor No.4 Meeting Room, 1 Zhongyang Road.
Following the release of the Framework Plan for the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone (“China (Shanghai) Pilot FTZ”) by the State Council, the pilot zone was officially launched on 29 September 2013. The China (Shanghai) Pilot FTZ will operate as a platform for testing the full convertibility of the renminbi (RMB) and the opening up of financial services, in addition to operating as a typical FTZ in which goods can be imported, processed and exported free from custom duties. The Chinese government is also expected to announce radical economic reforms, some of which may be piloted in the China (Shanghai) Pilot FTZ. Meanwhile, the tax authorities have been stepping up their supervision of cross-border transactions and their management of sourcing issues for tax purposes. Turning a blind eye to these developments is no longer an option. Only by participating actively and familiarizing themselves with both BEPS and the Chinese tax reform process can companies start to get to grips with their potential consequences and take the initiative in playing to win.
We will jointly discuss the most heated tax topics, including hot issues related to the latest insights on the China (Shanghai) Pilot FTZ and updated tax regulations related to cross-border transactions, etc.. Practical case studies and experience will also be shared to help you well prepared to play to win in the Year of the Horse.
As always, we welcome Working Group members’ suggestions for possible agenda topics and speakers for this meeting and future Working Group meetings.
Should you be interested in this meeting, please do not hesitate to contact us.
