Is your organization struggling with high turn over? Is your core competency team loosing valuable talent? You have used all traditional tools as retention countermeasures and yet it did not help? Please join us for this HR seminar to understand the key retention root causes and to learn some useful tips that will unlock the challenge in technological and demographic trends Influencing the attraction and retention of talents across China.
The Salary Survey Report 2018/2019 conducted among German companies in China informed us on estimated salary increment of 5.99% China-wide and for North China Region this range is from 5.04% to 5.75%. Year on year the salary increase rate is noticeably slowing down and yet compared to the forecasted rate of productivity increase, such salary increment is quite of a challenge for many organizations’ next year budget.
It is not a secret that any kind of singled salary increases is considered only a short-term solution, but it fails to build a long-term sustainability for the companies to attract, recruit and retain the high-potential talents they desperately need for tomorrow. The “war” for talents, as it is often referred to, is getting even more severe and continues to cause great disturbances for companies and even higher labor costs when these are ignored to be addressed in a timely manner. The trend is accelerated even more so as a result of the consistent technological, digital and AI advancements and a noticeable shift from manual to automated production floors and operations and many industries are already causing a serious demand of highly skilled labor.
Last but not least, the demographics of aging population and a young workforce motivated by different ideals and pursuits of impactful significance, attracting and retaining of the right talents requires greater creativity and innovation as part of a holistic approach. While the call is on the leadership to outline and communicate a clear business strategy and vision, it is the daily work of the HR teams to execute on the engagement with the workforce and design winning propositions to build sustainability.
In this seminar, we will explore more about the retention trends across China that will give European Chamber members insights on how to be creative and design a long term talent attraction, development and retention strategies. We will also invite attendees to exchange good practices in that direction.
