Mr. Jon Cowley
Jon Cowley is a registered foreign lawyer based in Baker McKenzie's Hong Kong office. Jon's practice focuses on Asia-Pacific customs and trade matters, including controversy and audit support, duty and indirect tax planning, supply chain structuring and trade compliance advice. Jon returned to Baker McKenzie after spending five years as Assistant General Counsel for Customs and International Trade at a major consumer product company, where he advised the business on trade and customs issues globally.
Mr. Frank Pan
Mr. Pan is a Special Counsel of Baker McKenzie’s Shanghai office. He works in a broad range of trade actions, including advising various multinational companies on trade law compliance, transfer pricing, indirect tax optimization and other PRC regulatory, tax and customs issues related to supply chain planning and managing disputes with PRC Customs.
Mr. Michele Geraci
Michele Geraci is an Italian politician and economist who focuses on policy-oriented research on International Trade, USA-EU-China Relations, Belt&Road, AI and Universal Basic Income and other current affairs. He served as the Undersecretary of State at the Italian Ministry of Economic Development, responsible for International Trade and Investment, and was the architect of Italy's participation in the Belt & Road Initiative and was a nominee for the role of Prime Minister of Italy. Recently, he has been appointed as the Head of the Foreign Affairs and International Trade Department of Independence Movement, a newly formed Italian political movement. The primary objective of this movement is to bridge the gap between the West and East within the context of the evolution towards a multipolar world. He holds the position of Adjunct Professor of Finance and Economics at New York University Shanghai and is an Honorary Professor at Peking University. Prior to his current roles, he worked for two decades as an Investment Banker (Merryll Lynch, Bank of America, DLJ, Schroders Asset Management) and Engineer (British Telecom) in London. He has been Knighted by the President of Italy, Mattarella, and the President of Georgia, Margvelashvili. He holds an MBA from MIT, speaks five languages and he is a frequent guest on international media and conferences.
