Robots may take our jobs some day in the future. But in the meantime, they might just help boost returns on our stock portfolios.

The European Chamber is delighted to welcome you to a Factory tour to KUKA Robotics (Songjiang District). During the visit, Mr. James Wang, CEO of KUKA Systems (China) Co., Ltd. and Mr. Andy Wen, CEO of KUKA Robotics (China) Co., Ltd., will take you around the manufacturing plant and will speak about Manufacturing Robots.

About KUKA

KUKA has been manufacturing industrial robots for over 40 years. The cornerstone for today’s Industry 4.0 was laid in the 1970s: with their first industrial robot FAMULUS. In 1996, KUKA Robotics took another quantum leap in the development of industrial robots: that year saw the launch of the first PC-based controller, developed by KUKA. This was the dawn of the “real” mechatronics era, characterized by the precise interaction of software, controller and mechanical systems.

Nowadays, KUKA Robotics offers a wide product range for various industries and tailor-made automation solutions. Together with a broad network of integrators and system partners, they focus on planning and designing industrial robots.

11:30 – 12:45     Bus trip back to the meeting point (European Chamber Shanghai Office)

All applications will be screened in advance, competitors of the hosting company won't be able to participate. Your registration is not confirmed until you receive an email from the European Chamber confirming your participation.

European Chamber Shanghai Office. The bus will leave at 8:15 am, please be on time.

Shuttle bus information

The shuttle bus is arranged by the European Chamber. Please note that all payments must be received in advance and the bus will leave on time. Your punctuality is greatly appreciated. 

If you don’t plan to join the European Chamber shuttle bus and prefer to meet directly at the entrance of the plant please inform the European Chamber team in advance.

Jiangbing Wang (James), since 2014 CEO of KUKA Systems (China) Co., Ltd., being responsible for providing robots and automation solution to automotive industry in APAC.
After completing Engineering study in China and Business Management study in Germany, Mr. Wang has worked many years for German companies with management function, such as Commercial Manager of a Siemens subsidiary, Chief Representative of Roland Berger International Management Consulting/Beijing Office, General Manager of KROHNE Measurement Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. and China Country Manager of Gerresheimer AG.

Mr. Andy Wen joined KUKA Robotics as CEO of KUKA Robotics China Co., Ltd. in 2016. He is responsible for the KUKA Robotics manufacturing, sales and service in China.
Before joined in KUKA, Andy was ever serving for SIEMENS Logistic and Assembly as General Manager of China, built up and further strengthened direct sales for machine business and profitability. Then Mr. Andy Wen acted as CEO of SIEMENS Electronics Assembly Systems Ltd., achieved tremendously increase in business revenue and productivity enhancement. After that, Mr. Andy Wen joined SAMSUNG Techwin as Vice President and General Manager, being responsible for three major business regions including China, Taiwan and Hong Kong, helping Samsung achieved considerable growth by continuous product improvement and sales channel development.
Mr. Andy Wen has more than 20 years’ work experience in automation and electronics industry with deep insight.
