With the growing volume of cyber attacks, the Standing Committee of China’s National People’s Congress (NPC) passed China’s first Cybersecurity Law, which has taken effect from 1st June 2017. Speakers
Mr. Michael Tan
Michael has more than 20 years of experience in advising international companies on their operations in and with China. He has profound experience advising industrial clients in various sectors, covering all legal aspects of a typical investment deal like market entry and joint ventures, M&A restructuring and exit. Throughout his two decades’ practice, Michael has been gradually converging his energy on technology driven business and has built up his reputation and connections in the circle.
As the first Chinese partner of Taylor Wessing, Michael is now heading the firm's TMC practice for China. Besides his expertise regarding general corporate and commercial matters, he specializes in IT regulatory and data/privacy protection areas. Michael holds CIPP/E certification as granted by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). At the same time, he frequently publishes articles and comments on IT and technology related legal topics.
Michael is National Vice Chair of the Legal & Competition Working Group under the European Chamber of Commerce. He also serves as an arbitrator of the Shanghai International Arbitration Center.
Michael studied law at the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing (UIBE), China, where he also completed his LLB and LLM degrees in 1997 and 2000 respectively. In 2006, Michael received his law doctorate from UIBE. In 1997, Michael was admitted to the Chinese bar. After practicing in domestic law firms, he worked in the Beijing office of a major international law firm from 2000 to 2002. In 2002, he joined Taylor Wessing in the Shanghai office. As of 2007, he has been appointed as a partner of Taylor Wessing.
Mr. Philip Wong
Philip is a Project Management Professional of IT industries. For over 15 years of experience, started off the first 8 years in IBM, managing outsourcing and infrastructure business, then went onto management consulting services and developing new business units, raising new offices for Captiare, a new raise IT consulting firm. And recently heavily involved in the Cyber security consultancy.
Certified in PMP, ITIL and Six Sigma, One of the early adopters in the region utilizing these the structural methodology to Manage, Standardize and Improve IT infrastructure projects in a coherence fashion. While having broad knowledge in IT Infrastructure and DataCenter, he focused on developing overall Project Competency, also has taken different specialty roles including:
• Project Management and Engagement, expert in Managing IT projects, manage virtual resources across APAC and Emea, spread across different tower of competencies. Provide technical consultation to sales teamfor incoming opportunities
• Delivery Project Executive, Maintain Client relationship, manage overall strategic outsourcing program, Overseeing the operation to maintain service level, Lead in CriSit (critical situation) management and spot out-scoped area of customer’s need and turn into account growth.
Ms. Ally Shen
Ping “Ally” Shen joined in Beijing Dentons Law Offices, Shenzhen in October 2016 after practicing law in China for 15 years and studying law in USA. Ally is proficient at Cyber Security & Privacy, FDI, Cross-border Transaction, Financing and Capital Market, PE/VC Investment. She also comprehends laws in the United States, including Real Estate and civil fields.
Founder and Co-chair, IAPP Shenzhen Chapter, CIPP/E Certificate, Member of “Dentons Global Cyber-Security & Privacy Group” ,Writer of the book “Analysis of Data Protection in EU and China”.
Mr. Terry Chan
Terry Chan has more than 20 years of e-Commerce Supply Chain experiences in marketplace and 3PL, ane-Commerce logistics entrepreneur, postal expert, columnist, startup, investor and keynote speaker across Asia Pacific.
He is the Chairman ofHong Kong e-Commerce Supply Chain Association (HKeCSC), the first & only one professional association which tailors for the senior executive who are working in the eCommerce industry and focus on the supply chain management.
He is the Sr. Manager – Postal Operations and ex General Manager, 3PL for a leading B2C eCommerce Marketplace in South East Asia and based in Hong Kong.
He was the Founder and CEO of EC-Post Worldwide Co Ltd in Hong Kong, an eCommerce Supply Chain Accelerator. He is the e-Commerce Supply Chain advisor to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), and key organizations such as, Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), Asia Pacific Postal Union (APPU), British Chamber of Commerce, City University of Hong Kong... etc. He is Chartered Member (CILT), Logistics Policy Committee (LPC) and Committee of the eCommerce Focus Group of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT HK).
He is the steering committee of GS1 HK Summit 2017 and judges for the 2017 top 10 eCommerce Website Awards for GS1 Hong Kong. He is the columnist of professional logistics & eCommerce related magazines.
Prior to his current position, he held a variety of management positions with the leading multinational supply chain companies such as, DHL eCommerce, FedEx, Sweden and Danish Post, S.F. Express, City-link Express, Yamato and KMB.
