Chinese banks have transformed into modern, well-run commercial banks, playing a vital role supporting China's economic growth. In his book, James Stent argues that in his view Chinese banks are operating as hybrid banks, borrowing extensively from Western models, but at the same time operating within a traditional Chinese cultural framework and in line with China's governance model.
The European Chamber is delighted to welcome James Stent to explain how Chinese banks function, analyze their strengths and weaknesses and the challenges they face in a slowing economy.
