by:Legal & Competition Working Group / Forum
Created in 2000, the Legal and Competition Working Group aims to foster greater legal transparency and awareness of legal developments affecting foreign investment and trade in China. It also advocates for the strengthening of the rule of law and better access to the legal market for foreign law firms in China. It now comprises around 500 individuals representing over 200 member companies, and is active in the Beijing, Shanghai and South China chapters of the European Chamber. These individuals are: (i) lawyers from European-based law firms registered with the Ministry of Justice (MOJ); (ii) European lawyers working in other foreign law firms registered with the MOJ or in Chinese law firms; and (iii) in-house counsels for European corporate entities with a presence within China.
