To better understand the current situation of environmental PPP model in China, the chamber will invite Mr. Lu Yuantang, Director of Environmental PPP Center of Chinese Academy for Environmental Planning (环境保护部环境规划院 环境PPP中心主任) to provide exclusive insights on the current legal framework, implementation situation and risk management of environmental PPP model in China, followed by the roundtable discussion with our members.

With the new application system for foreigners’ work permit implemented on April 1st 2017 and the 2017 Foreign Permanent Resident ID starting to process in June in Shanghai, the batch of newly promulgated policies have drawn much attention as well as confusion. How has this new system been implemented in Shanghai over the past months? Which lessons can be learned from the visa application experiences in practice?

The Petrochemicals, Chemicals & Refining (PCR) Working Group is glad to invite you to their next Joint Working Group Meeting, that will take place on Wednesday, 27th September, 16:00-18:00 at the European Chamber Shanghai Office. Members from Beijing can join via videoconference.

During this meeting, we will have a discussion about the recent campaign to enforce environmental law from the MEP and local environmental protection agencies.

In the past three months some members of the European Chamber have found increased difficulties to operate their business, mainly as a consequence of environmental regulation strictly enforced by the MEP and local environmental protection agencies. In some cases, companies have been requested to stop their production immediately. According to the information received by the European Chamber, the involved areas mainly include Jiangsu Province, Zhejiang Province, Shandong Province, Guangdong Province, Shanghai and Tianjin.
