The European Chamber is delighted to invite its members and their children to join a free fun afternoon at the NBA Playzone on Friday 22nd June 2018. A fun-filled afternoon for European Chamber families to mingle with each other.
NBA Playzone Shanghai is an NBA-themed indoor playground that brings active, sports-themed fun to families in Shanghai. Its 1,500 sqm destination offers children a safe, clean, and fun place to run, jump, shoot, and learn. NBA Playzone helps young fans develop basic sports skills and fosters important values like teamwork and determination through a variety of basketball-inspired play areas and activities. NBA mascots, Clutch and Benny the Bull, make regular appearances at NBA Playzone, teaching children the basics of fitness, nutrition, and basketball.
Event Program for scheduled activities
17:00-17:30 Registration ( Register in advance with the European Chamber and pick up your stickers at the NBA Playzone door)
17:30-18:00 Basketball Games (Ages 4-7)
A NBA Playzone coach will teach basic basketball skills through gameplay to children ages 4-7.
18:00-18:30 Basketball Games (Ages 8-11)
A NBA Playzone coach will teach basic basketball skills through gameplay to children ages 8-11.
18:30-19:00 Adults Slam-Dunk Contest
The children and the NBA Playzone mascot will be the score keepers. Each adult will have two dunks per
round and will be eliminated in a knock-out format.
19:00-19:15 NBA Mascot Moment
NBA Playzone mascot will appear and interact with guests. The interaction will be followed by a photo
opportunity.
19:15-19:30 Family Tug-of-War
Additional Entertainment (17:30-20:00)
- Jungle Gym with slides, ball pit and zip-line to challenge adventure-seeking children.
- Enclosed trampoline space where children can showcase their high-flying dunking skills.
- A collection of life-sized player images, hand and footprints for measure-up against guests favorite basketball stars.
- Gesture-controlled digital basketball game with customizable characters.
- One-third scale NBA regulation court to teach basketball fundamentals and develop star players of tomorrow.
- 2 hours of Balloon Clown
Registration Terms and Important Information
- Tickets are free and for members only.
- Deadline for registration: 20th June 2018. Please register in advance in order to reserve and pick up your stickers at the door. To register please contact Ms Laura Alvarez Mendivil at lamendivil@europeanchamber.com.cn. Indicating the number of family members, ages, full names, company name when applicable and email addresses.
- Children Ages 3-12 are welcome to the NBA Playzone area.
- Hot food, soft drinks, cakes and snacks will be available for purchase at the event.
Dress Code
Comfortable clothing that is easy to move around in is recommended. Socks and long clothing are suitable as some areas are "socks only" (no bare feet) and long clothing is best for using on the slides.

By Metro: Line 13 and Line 10 Xintiandi Station or Line 8 and Line 10 Laoximen Station
Parking: Hubindao Shopping Mall or parking lots near the mall.
NBA PlayZone Safety Rules
- Accompany and take care of your children at all times while at NBA Playzone. Please do not ask anyone else to take care of your children or leave any of your children with anyone else at any time.
- No person aged 18 or over who is on his/her own will be admitted into NBA Playzone.
- No smoking. No spitting. No littering.
- Please keep NBA Playzone clean.
- Please take care of your belongings. The European Chamber and NBA Playzone are not responsible for any loss or damage to your belongings. NBA Playzone may need to check your belongings at any time for security reasons.
- No entry if you are not feeling well.
- No outside food or beverage is allowed. No chewing gum anywhere inside NBA Playzone.
- Safety rules may vary in different zones in terms of children’s age, height and clothes worn, as well as the capacity of a given zone. Please carefully read and comply with those specific rules applied to each zone, to ensure your safety and the safety of your children.
- If you find any loose or damaged part of any equipment, or if you suspect any any equipment is unsafe, please immediately stop using it and report to NBA Playzone staff.
- Be polite and considerate in NBA Playzone. Screaming, cursing, fighting, rough play, obscenities, threats, or any other rude or aggressive actions will not be tolerated.
- For good hygiene,socks are required to be worn on the facilities.
- Each Guardian should enter or leave NBA Playzone together with his/her children.n.
