Dear AFB Working Group members,

The European Chamber is delighted to invite you to join the next AFB Working Group Meeting. It will take place on Monday 16 April at 2:30-4:30pm at the European Chamber Shanghai & Beijing Offices via videoconference facility.

In this meeting, Dr. Li Yu, Scientific and Regulatory Affairs Director, Asia-Pacific of Mars Wrigley Confectionery, will share with us his views on food traceability. By reviewing current practice and regulatory requirement in main markets around world, as a food industry group, Dr. Li will talk about the food traceability, including its scope, purpose, role and responsibility of different stakeholders. In addition, his presentation will touch upon the technologies that are applied to ensue food safety including traditional means, compute-based approaches, as well as block chain.

To ensure free flow of the discussion, the meeting will be held in Chinese only.

Vice President, The China National Food Industry Association (CNFIA)
Chairperson, The Food Safety Standard and Regulation Committee of CNFIA

Dr. Li has been working for Mars Inc. since 2003. His responsibility is to establish systems and provide governance to ensure the full product and process compliance, and to proactively engage with external stakeholders for a science-based and best practice-based regulation system.
Dr. Li has been nominated as the Vice President of the CNFIA and chaired the Food Safety Standard and Regulation Working Committee of CNFIA since 2008.
Before joining Mars, he had 10 years R&D working experience in pharmaceutical industry in China. Prior to that, he worked in fundamental research in chemistry of organic synthesis and natural product identification for 10 years in academy.
