It’s Performance Evaluation Time! As we approach the beginning of the Chinese New Year, companies with a performance evaluation process in place will launch into the annual performance review. The Annual Performance Appraisal is an excellent opportunity for both the company and the employee to:
- Get career-focused face time between the employee and line manager
- Give and Receive candid feedback on what can be improved so that it can be course-corrected
- Jumpstart the process of offering or asking for a new assignment, promotion or merit raise
- Position yourself to receive your share fair at bonus time;
- Itemize your goals and review the metrics used to measure them
Creating a culture that cultivates accountability delivers numerous business benefits: better execution, lower employee turnover and more creativity and innovation. The truth is, lack of accountable employees leads to costly consequences. Cultivating responsibility leads to an improvement in the overall performance of the company. The more accountable employees are, the harder they strive to meet and exceed expectations at work.
How can leaders cultivate accountability? How can you turn employees with low morale and productivity into responsible employees? We will discuss with hands on examples how to increase the performance of your whole team, how to single out the ones which may be at risk of leaving your organization and deliver a tailor-made solution as to how you can avoid your top performers leaving you - without simply increasing the salary every year.
Whether you are a Manager or Employee, a large multinational or a SME or start-up, performance evaluations and understanding accountability can help you achieve your business and personal goals.
The European Chamber is delighted to welcome Miriam Wickertsheim, General Manager at Direct HR, and Sebastian Lillo, Vice President at DOOR International, and Managing Director and Master Trainer at ThrivinAsia, to share with participants their experience in conducing successful performance evaluations and cultivating a culture of accountability.
