Business Confidence Survey 2014 Launch
2014-05-29 | Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin
The European Business in China Business Confidence Survey 2014 (BCS 2014) was launched today, Thursday, 29th May, in Beijing, Shanghai and Tianjin.
The BCS 2014 – the 10th anniversary edition of the survey – was compiled with input from over 550 European member companies and was put together in cooperation with our partner, Roland Berger Strategy Consultants. We would like to thank all member companies who contributed to the survey.
According to the results of the survey, business conditions in China are getting tougher and a new sober reality is developing. This is exemplified by an entrenched sense of pessimism, as persistent market challenges show little sign of abating. In turn, many firms are setting more modest expectations for revenue and profitability growth and are scaling back their investment plans for the Chinese marketplace. However, implementation of meaningful reforms―in particular increased market access―would likely prompt a reversal of this trend.
