Colourful stripes, stylish neon dots, fantasy flowers of all kinds—this year’s Easter eggs painted at the European Chamber Shenyang's first Easter brunch were extremely creative. Children of all nationalities took part in this Easter Sunday tradition on 20th April.

All proceeds—a total of RMB 15,615—were donated to the Shenyang Children’s Welfare Institute, which supports children in need, and grants them the education they deserve. In total ten different Shenyang-based international companies collaborated to host this traditional festive event in the garden of Noble Mansion in Hunnan District, in the name of the European Chamber.

Children were the focus of the event, with several special activities arranged such as an Easter egg hunt, a giant Easter Bunny handing out presents and a cookie station.

"Easter Sunday is something truly special for a lot of Christians all over the world. At the European Chamber of Commerce we are more than happy to provide our guests a little Easter feeling they know from back home—or get to know for the very first time. We are very grateful that both Chinese and international families came today to celebrate together with us. See you all here next year, too!” said the Shenyang Chapter’s chairman, Florian Schmied, in his opening speech.

Sitting on crowded beer benches people enjoyed offerings from Tafelspitz, Wempe Food, Kempinski Hotels, Traders Hotel, Shenyang, Sofitel Shenyang Lido, Double Tree by Hilton, Casey’s, Star Mall including Color Me!, Tucher & Smith wines and Euro Sino Invest.

Families enjoyed traditional German veal sausages, homemade cakes, Easter punch and exotic yoghurt drinks. Freshly decorated cookies and bakery goods proved just as popular as the famous Easter Ham. Music was provided by the pianist Sieow Phey.

Overall, this was a successful and fun-filled event, for all the guests, the Children’s Welfare Institute and the European Chamber as well. See you next year!
