EUCCC presented the Chamber PP and the business climate in general. The British Embassy discussed the importance of transparency and rule of law. All participants expressed concern about the door closing for foreign business. VM Fu stressed the importance of following trends in China and the topics of the day. She also asked for support on Chinese political concerns. She affirmed that the Chinese Government is listening carefully and sensitive to concerns on market access, particularly shareholder restrictions. All participants agreed that more discussion is needed. Participants were encouraged by the discussion and believe that high level ministerial meetings will continue. EUCCC has also had an unprecedented number of high level meetings in the first quarter of this year. The following day the EUCCC met with the Vice Minister of the MIIT.
