Meeting with the Association of European Heating Industry Delegates on Chinese Gas Condensing Boiler Market

On 22 January 2019, the European Chamber organized a meeting between the Association of European Heating Industry (EHI) and Europe China Heating Initiative (ECHI) desk member companies. The delegates from EHI are Mr Klaus Jesse, the Chairman of EHI Executive Council, Mr Andreas Lücke, the Secretary of the Department Market Research and International Market and Mr Paolo Basso, the Regulatory Affairs Manager of EHI. Almost all CEOs from ECHI member companies attend this meeting.

This meeting starts by chair election. Mr Eric XIE, Manager Director at BDR Thermea was elected as Chair while Mr Kun PU, Director of Technical & Training Center at Vaillant and Ms Erin ZHENG, Senior Product Marketing Manager at Ariston Thermo China were elected as Vice Chairs. Then, Members shared information on market development and discussed over future perspectives.

During the discussion, many issues were raised by member companies to EHI delegates, including CCC certification on gas appliances, grey import and commercial boilers. The digital final version of the brochure for promotion of condensing technology in policy making was reviewed by all members, and it will act as the main material for advocacy activities by ECHI. Ms Lizi Chen, Working Group Coordinator at the European Chamber, gave a presentation on the European Business in China Annual Position Paper and called for contribution from members as well as EHI delegates to 2019/2020 position paper.
