Meeting with Ms. Natalia Martínez Páramo, Head of COSME at EASME

Last 13th November European Chamber members, along with European Chamber General Manager Ms. Ioana Kraft and EU SME Centre representatives, met with Ms. Natalia Martínez Páramo, Head of THE EU programme for the Competitiveness of Enterprises and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (COSME) at the European Agency for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (EASME).

The main topics that were discussed were the business environment for European businesses (especially SMEs) in China and more concretely in Shanghai. Ms. Kraft began by briefly introducing the business environment in Shanghai and the Shanghai Position Paper, and Ms. Martínez Páramo explained the activities of EASME. The member representatives  all provided their views on the situation for European SMEs from the perspective of standardisation, energy and finance and taxation. Finally, Ms. Ester Cañada Amela briefly discussed the policy environment in China for SMEs, with an emphasis on access to financing. Both sides engaged in a productive discussion on how to enhance cooperation.
