Secretary General Adam Dunnett Met with Vice President of Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone Administrative Committee

On 11st October, Adam Dunnett, Secretary General of the European Chamber, met with Mr. Wang Wei, Vice President  of Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone Administrative Committee ,and two representatives from Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone Administrative Committee and EU-China Advanced Manufacturing Park in Tianjin.

Mr.Wang Wei briefly introduced that Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone is the largest free trade zone in China and EU-China Advanced Manufacturing Park in Tianjin was newly established in early 2018 and treated as one of the key projects of economic development in 2018 by Tianjin Municipal Government.  

The counterpart showed great interest to be a privileged partner of the chamber and both sides agreed that  the cooperation is of potential benefits not only for the Tianjin members to improve the local regulatory environment, but also for other members which are interested in relocating their business to or investing in Tianjin. In addition, the industrial park could be a pilot park for potential breakthroughs in market access for certain industries.

The counterpart showed great interest in receiving any European company’s visit to their park, with or without potential investment interest. They welcome intelligent manufacturing,equipment manufacturing, medical/pharmaceutical companies, They also mentioned if the Chamber is interested in organizing certain events, they would be glad to offer the venue and support (a chance to promote their site as well). 

Secretary General Adam Dunnett presented Vice President Mr. Wang Wei the European Business in China—Position Paper 2018/2019,  and 18 Months Since Davos report.
