Meeting with Department of Planning, NDRC

Michael Chang, Vice President of the Chamber led a delegation and met with Deputy Director General Yue Xiuhu of Department of Planning, NDRC. DDG Yue welcomed the delegation from the Chamber and recalled the last meeting held in last June. Michael thanked DDG Yue and briefly introduced to him some latest development of the Chamber since last meeting. He then gave the floor to the AC members. As requested by the NDRC, the attending AC members shared the development of their businesses in China, mid-term and long-term development strategies, the expectations of their business prospects in China, challenges faced in the industry and some policy recommendations. DDG Yue recognized the important role the FIEs have played since China’s reform and opening up. He also commented that it is indeed very difficult to formulate the macro policies in certain industries and sectors in China. He appreciated the best practice AC members shared in their business operation and expressed the hope of having more dialogues with the Chamber. Michael presented the Position Paper 2017/2018 to DDG Yue concluding the meeting.
