Meeting with President of SCDRC

President of the Chamber had a meeting with President Li Wei of the State Council Development Research Centre, SCDRC together with some AC members. President Harborn briefed President Li the key messages from the Position Paper 2017/2018 and alerted him the political discussions in the EU due to the lack of reciprocity in terms of market access in the EU and China. President Li welcomed the delegation from the Chamber and shared his observations on the 19th Party Congress and its outcome. He responded to the confusion the outside world has about the Congress and stressed that China will continue its reform and opening up after the Congress, but it takes time. In response to the comments from AC members, he said that the SCDRC is open to cooperation with the Chamber in certain areas. Working-level dialogues are welcomed to start with. In conclusion, President Harborn presented the PP to President Li Wei.
