Meeting with Department of Economic Law of the NPCLAC

The Chamber had a meeting with Mr Yang Heqing, Deputy Director General of Department of Economic Law of the Legislative Affairs Commission of the National People’s Congress (NPCLAC). Members of the Chamber talked about the concerns and recommendations of the revised draft Standardization Law, such as the alignment with other laws and regulations, issues about corporate self-declaration system, the legal status of mandatory standards and recommended standards and the introduction of the standard transition period in the Law.

DDG Yang responded to the comments made at the meeting and pointed out that his department is listening to various stakeholders and is studying the comments provided by all parties. They are sorting out the relations between the Law and relevant laws and regulations so that the Law could be implemented more smoothly. Ms Ziting Zhang, Director of Government Affairs (Chinese Affairs) thanked DDG Yang and his colleagues and hoped to maintain the working-level exchanges with the NPCLAC in the future.
