Meeting with the Chief Economist of State Administration of Taxation

Joerg Wuttke, President of the Chamber had a meeting with Mr. Ren Rongfa, Chief Economist of the State Administration of Taxation.

Mr. Ren welcomed the delegation of the Chamber and recalled the working-level meeting with the Chamber on the ‘Thousand Enterprise Group Financial Data Collection’ campaign. President Wuttke thanked Mr. Ren for his time and briefed Mr. Ren of the two-way trade between China and the EU, especially the sharp downward of the EU investment into China.  He expressed the hope of a more open China for FIEs. He extended appreciation to Mr. Ren for the previous engagement between the Chamber and the SAT. He also appreciated the SAT’s working together with the OECD on BEPS.

Representatives of the Finance & Taxation Working Group raised some remaining issues and concerns from some member companies. Mr. Ren and Director General Miao further explained the purpose of the campaign, the use and protection of the data collected. For more specific questions, the working group will further work with the SAT. At the end of the meeting, President Wuttke presented the Position Paper to Mr. Ren.
