Meeting with Vice Chairman of Shanghai Federation of Industry and Commerce on BCS

During this meeting, Dr. Ioana Kraft, General Manager of the European Chamber Shanghai Chapter, shared key findings of the newest Business Confidence Survey with Mr. Jin Liang, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Federation of Industry and Commerce. According to the BCS, regulatory restrictions, market access barriers and economic downturn are the key factors that the European Chamber members are most concerned about whiling doing business in China. The companies are adapting themselves into the new reality and planning to cut costs accordingly. In the meantime, the European business is very interested to learn more about Chinese investment in Europe, as well as China's One Road One Belt initiative. Mr. Jin spoke highly of the BCS and FIE's contribution to the development of Chinese economy. Despite that the Chinese economy no longer has double-digit growth, the China market is still one of the largest markets in the world and has great potential to grow. Mr. Jin also introduced the Private Economy Service Center and China Venture Capital Association - the two platforms that are established under the Federation and aim to provide the service to the Shanghai private companies to invest abroad. Both sides agreed to establish long-term strategic cooperation partnership and help members to find potential business opportunities.
