Exclusive Dialogue with China Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone and Pudong Government

Mr. Jian delivered a keynote speech on the latest development of the FTZ, followed by Mr. Sun Yongqiang, Deputy Director of the Business Council of Shanghai Pudong New Area People’s Government, who gave a presentation on the investment policies in Pudong. In his presentation, Mr. Sun talked about open policies, innovative functions and investment opportunities in the FTZ. Mr. Lu Ming, Deputy Director of Pudong New Area Science and Technology Committee, then introduced Shanghai Scientific and Technological Innovation Center. Mr. Lu shared with the audience the ambition of Shanghai to become a global technology and innovation center and the approaches to be adopted to achieve that target. In the Q&A session, six officials from  Pudong New Area Financial Services Bureau,  Management Department of Shanghai Pudong New Area Science and Technology Committee, Investment Promotion Management Department, Business Council of Shanghai Pudong New Area People’s Government, Pudong Customs, Import and Export Inspection and Quarantine Office and Exit-Entry Administration Office of Pudong Public Security Bureau answered questions about operations of foreign health insurance companies, the evaluation mechanism of the performance of the free trade zones, RMB overseas investment, cross-border e-commerce and the operation of foreign-invested educational institutions in the FTZ, etc.. There were all together around 120 people attended the Dialogue.
