Joint Initiatives
What can the European Chamber offer your Business Association/Industry?
China has been the major driver of global growth post the 2008 financial crisis. The steady growth of the Chinese economy has made China an attractive destination for investment in many industry sectors. However, the different and fast-changing business and regulatory environments can prove to be obstacles for companies to fully capture their market potential in China. As a response to this, a growing number of leading European business associations and industry groups have identified the need to establish a presence and formal representation in China. Many of these have found the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China to be a reliable partner for their activities, allowing them to quickly and efficiently establish China Desks or Industry Desks and immediately benefit from the European Chamber's knowledge, experience and vast network.
Jointly with these European business associations and member companies, the European Chamber has built a remarkable platform in areas including medical devices (COCIR and CDMD), wood material (European Wood), cosmetics, foods (cheese, FSMP and Paediatric Nutrition), fashtion and leather. These platforms have become major stakeholders within EU-China trade relations and are viewed as dependable partners for the Chinese authorities when seeking input for further regulatory development.
The European Chamber is also a consortium partner for projects funded by the European Union such as the China IPR SME Helpdesk, the EU SME Centre, and GNSS Asia.
