Job description:
The intern will assist Business and Government Manager with the coordination and organization of Working Groups and Government affairs activities at the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, SC Chapter, Shenzhen office.
Specific duties include:
1. Assisting Working Group / Forum and Government Affairs:
Complete specific research on issues/regulations/policies (where in Chinese) in preparation for
Working Groups/Forums in Shenzhen,
Create and update organization charts,
Update information on restructuring & mergers of Chinese government offices,
Provide presentation material related to Working Groups/Forums & related seminars,
Provide translation assistance related to government communication but not limited to that,
Update government offices contact list database,
Update WG/Forums mailing lists.
2. Assisting Events Management:
Update the European Chamber’s website for planned events in Shenzhen,
Send invitations through our system or personal emails and make phone calls,
Email registration - Responsible for email confirmation to people’s registrations for events. Creating registration lists for the respective events in Shenzhen,
Events Attendance - Responsible for the registration desk (set up, banners, brochures registration lists, collecting entrance fees, issuing receipts, photos, etc) of the events in Shenzhen,
Events accounting - Responsible for the accounting of the events. Even if there is a second intern helping at the registration desk, he/she will remain in charge for the registration and accounting. The intern will also take care of the invoices issued from Beijing for if companies explicitly request for them.
3. Assisting Business Communication:
Contact relevant companies and organizations to gather required information,
Promote EUCCC organized social events and seminars,
Contact Chinese government agencies to establish industrial dialogues.
4. Administrative tasks:
Assist with office and administrative duties,
Assist in facilitating Working Groups and organizing various meetings and activities, drafting meeting minutes.
5. Other tasks required by the Chamber.
Please note that the intern shall work 5 days a week, and at least for 3 months. Current students with a 6 month working semester are strongly encouraged to apply. The intern will receive a stipend of 1000rmb (net) per month.
Upon successful completion of the 3 month internship, a letter of recommendation from the Chamber will be provided as a reference.
Skills & experience
Qualifications :
Excellent command of spoken and written English and Mandarin
Background in law, business, economics or administration preferred
Fourth-year students or postgraduate students preferred
Research experience
Organizational, communication, social and presentation skills
Computer literacy, including Outlook, Word, Excel
Flexible and proactive attitude
