Maria is the Senior Associate on the International Business Advisory team at Dezan Shira & Associates' Shanghai office. She advises clients on corporate establishment, taxation and legal issues for their investments in China. Her work often includes analysis on corporate tax structuring, equity transfers, profit repatriation issues, analysis of legal and tax implications for setting up a business entity, and individual income tax optimization review.
Prior to joining Dezan Shira & Associates in August 2013, Maria worked in both international and domestic business consulting firms. Her work included assisting on a major JV project between a foreign company and a Chinese company. Maria assisted with negotiations on the MOU and the JV contract, moreover, participated in the legal due diligence on the Chinese party. Maria also worked as communications manager developing focus personality analysis (FPA) strategies.
